ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court is hearing the petitions of the PCO judges affected by the apex court’s verdict on imposition of the emergency in the country.
A 14-member larger bench of the court headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammed Chaudhry conducting hearing of review petitions against July 31 verdict of apex court.
Federation, Pakistan Bar Council and Sindh High Court Bar made opponents in these petitions. The hearing of petitions started after 50 minutes delay. Thirty-four appeals of various types are included in the case. Fourteen former judges are also present in the court.
At the beginning of the hearing, an applicant Nadeem Ahmed advocate withdrew his petition. The lawyer of applicant Akram Sheikh said we get the answer of our plea in a detailed verdict of Supreme Court.
