LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Thursday issued notices to Chairman Nepra, Chairman Pepco and the federal and provincial governments over the 13 per cent increase in power tariff.
Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed ordered the relevant parties to appear in court on January 21.
The tariff increase comes in the wake of the government’s agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
The three phase increase, during the current fiscal year, has already seen an increase of 4.4 per cent in October.
The 13 per cent increase in the December quarter was rejected by both traders and domestic consumers. — DawnNews
