FC Balochistan, Iran Border Force to patrol together

QUETTA: Frontier Corps Balochistan and Iranian Border Force will be jointly patrolling Pak-Iran border to check illegal movement, according to a DawnNews report on Tuesday.

Official sources told DawnNews that joint patrolling of FC and Iranian Border Force was decided during a Joint Border Commission meeting held in December 2009 in Zahedan.

The fortnightly patrolling would help stopping smugglers and criminals from using the border. The officials said that a communication hotline would also be established between the two countries at the Pak-Iran border to ensure timely coordination.

They said that besides representatives of forces, civilian representatives of the two countries would also participate in the patrolling. This joint patrolling has come more than three months after the suicide attack in Pishin area of Iranian Sistan-Balochistan.
